i'm beat
u heard me right, i'm beat
my days have been so routine
and for that
i could easily break it into 4 different scenarios
part 1 - doll me up like a princess, mama
wake up as early as 7 a.m. where Nadrah will be wide awake for her 1st feeding of the day
but before i could feed her, i would need to bath her with the help of my trusty + wise mom
rushed to the kitchen to get ready her warm bath
but before that
i'll be rummaging thru her drawers to pick up the best look of the day for her
once the warm bath is ready, my Nadir would scurried behind me to the baby's room so he would have a chance to play with water
and while my mom would be bathing Nadrah,
I on the other hand will have to keep an eye on Nadir
so he would not have the chance to dip his hand to the tub and splash water all over the room
part2 - the rush hour + payoff
once Nadrah has bath and beautifully dressed
i will have the honour to do the 1st feeding of the day (in my stinky pyjamas)
her feeding time would take an average of 10 minutes and with the burping session going on
in total, i would be glued to her for about 30 to 45 minutes (solely depends on how quick for her to burp)
but it does not end well here
pass her to mom + i get a quick rush to the bathroom for my own luxury bath
had a quick bite for breakfast and be well prepared for the 2nd feeding of the day
it is after the 2nd feeding that i'll be able to enjoy a short nap that could lasted for 2 hours or less
all these good happenings would end by 12 noon
part 3 - your wish is my command, princess nadrah
this is the best part
cause from 12 noon to 7 p.m.
she would be wide awake or
she lust for her mama's cradle-love
no chance to put her in either her cot or rocker for her to enjoy her nap after feeding
cause she knows, yes, she knows
the difference + warm sets upon btw the cot/rocker & her mama's full fleshed arms
try putting her on the cot/rocker and she'll shriek her heart, eyes + lungs out
so at this rate, i'll never have any chance to do any other work
except to cradle, sing lullaby and sway my hips while standing
all this just for Nadrah
(as for my mama, she would be taking care of Nadir. he's a handful but he's too cute and likeable)
part 4 - fulfilling rest is an understatement
so for all the happenings above
i will only have my fufilling rest by 8 p.m. or latest by 9 p.m.
cause by then, mom would be free to ease my load by looking after Nadrah for me
but i am not shaking legs when she took over
off to do housework for me
laundry, vaccuming, cooking, etc etc...
all this chores won't end till 11 p.m.
by then, i am dead beat and could not care less to think abt work
cos at the back of my mind, i could only think about sleep
and
my endless duty in the middle of the night that happens every 2 hours
yeap, feeding time for Nadrah
spank me hard... maternity leave is no dream
so, who says that maternity leave is for me to rest well @ home
it is more of a bridging camp
cause during maternity leave, i've the experience:
1) to be a full-time mother to Nadrah
2) to be a full-time homemaker (something which i have long forgotten during my working stint)
do i regret?
do i feel remorseful for getting married & have a baby?
hell NO!
being single has been a blessed
but to be married and have an offspring of your own
that is SUPER BLESSED
so till May 21, i will enjoy every bit and moments of it
cause i know for sure that
i'll miss my routine duty as a 10 weeks full time mama & homemaker when i pop back to work
and that will be another fighting ground that i'll need to prepare myself mentally + physically
no fret abt it though!
as what my belief will always be
just bring it on! shall not admit defeat but to stand tall in midst of the jungle-politics
anyone to spare me dettol?
