in 2005, we still deliberating where should we build our love nest...being an eastern person (long live bedok & tampines), i sworn my life there.i was never a western, central, north person cause for all my 26 years, everything is rooted at the east side. quoted from one of kit chan nday song, "this is where i belong". u can easily find anything and everything at the east side, finger licking nasi jenganan, cool heartlands shopping mall (salute to century & tampines mall), seaside and more. however things starts to set in when i was about to get wedded. sacrifices were made and here i am at jurong west. likewise the hdb caption for 2005 was - "head west for your love nest". and YES, i am nestling down at Jurong West, though I was abit apprehensive as there's too many "dark clouds" glooming here and there (especially on Sunday), i can't even find my fav sunday bfast (nasi jenganan) no more (guess there's no org jawa kat sini kot), inaccessible bus system and more.
i repeat bus system till i notice that i always walk to the interchange (10 mins or less depending on the speed that i set on my manual feet. wonder how many calories burnt?) or simply hail taxi for short trips, especially to market. did i tell u that Jurong People must be the only group of Singaporeans who took taxi intensively? no wonder, we won't ran out of taxi here. within a minute of 2, u shall get ur cab. the bliss of jurong west.
but look at me now, after 3 years staying here with overly expended home renovation (it does cost us a bomb but like our principle - micasa sucasa. no wonder i am a home person....lol), i starts to develop a sense of ownership to the community. and we (Nash, Nadrah and me) start by having 'Double E' (exploration & experiential) Sunday and visit our neighbourhood playground.
it was our Virgin visit after 3 solid years (do u need me to repeat that i am homey person again?) and went crazy flashing and snapping. For nadrah, it was heaven, cause first the visit was simply to get her mind off her Opah (she cried, wailed and stomped when Opah leave her for her religious class) and 2ndly, she has the playground to herself.
here, she bid goodbye and pledge that this will not be the last. cause now, everytime, i got back home from work, she would be chanting 'prayyyyygoooouuuunnnnd'
and when all that fail, just give me ur cheesiest smile ever, nadrah
while she continues with her antic, the parents posed too.
while she play, her two loyal guardian stay put to protect her. simply inseparable.
and we have to play the 'mama & papa is leaving you now' game just so she will follow us home
